GFRED Endurance Championship (concluded)

The NightSHIFT Gfred Championship has now ended. Thanks to everyone for taking part, and a special mention to Bukit and Copyright for their outstanding runs. Only two points in it, and both real champions.



The Points Feature Event
A single Nightshift Gfred Championship points race took place every Wednesday, with practice runs before the event.
The race kicked off at about 9:30 pm New York time.

Points are scored in the same way as in Formula 1:
1st: 25 points  //  2nd: 18 pts  //  3rd: 15 pts  //  4th: 12 pts  //  5th: 10 pts  //  6th: 8 pts  //  7th: 6 pts  //  8th: 4 pts  //  9th: 2 pts  //  10th: 1 pt.

Note: Players who DNF can still score points if they are classified in the top 10 at the end of the race, so keep on fighting no matter what.

R U L E S:

• Do NOT purposely kill your fellow competitors (or you will be kicked from future events).
  
• Swim, run, elbow your way to the highway. NO vehicles before this.
      > If you die in a traffic accident on the highway, get back to the highway any way you can (bike included) - no need to run back.
  
• Cars, SUVs, trucks and other land vehicles ONLY. No bikes! No jet-skis! And definitely no choppers or planes.
• Stealing another player's car is positively ENCOURAGED
• If you accidentally kill another player on the highway, WAIT for them to find a new car and get going again.
• Do NOT purposely barge other players off the road, paths or train tracks, or into obstacles. Race hard but race clean.
  

Follow the checkpoints: Quarry, Airport, Mt. Chiliad, Observatory and the Finish Line.


GUIDELINES and Top Tips:

• Get a car on the highway as fast as you can. Don't worry too much at this stage, just get going and exchange it for something better later on.
• Try to look after your car, especially when you find a good one. This could be all you need for the entire race.
• Be careful at the LSIA car park jump as this can ruin your race if you get it wrong - sending you back to the quarry.
• On the way to Mt. Chiliad, grab a new car near La Fuente Blanca leading to the Redwood Lights track... some beauties down there.
• Look out for the 9F and Infernus - AWD cars that can handle any terrain in any type of weather. Or grab a Sultan or Baller for good off-road traction in rainy conditions. Others cars like the Rapid GT and Bullet are also great, but only in dry weather.
• Make the transition from the road onto the railway track, and then up Mt. Chiliad for the famous 'hot lap' up the side, and back down again, or use the entire path if you feel your car won't make it, especially in the rain. Think about the weather and what car you are driving before attempting Mt. Chiliad. If it's raining, adjust your strategy.
• Another great place for a new car is the Observatory, but remember - you're near the end of the race and exchanging your car could cost you valuable time.
  
• Take the 'Zancudo Line' or take the safe route? You decide. Remember to check you've got a parachute before the race, always.
• Try and get plenty of practice in before race day - you'll need it.
• GOOD LUCK - you'll need that too.

S C H E D U L E:

¹ Major Copyright was given a courtesy 12 points for finishing 4th (on his own) after he disconnected during round 2. His position and points do not affect the results of the race itself, and 10th place was still awarded a single point.

² Mac Daddy was given a courtesy 8 points for the calculated sixth place he would have finished in after disconnecting close to the end of round 4.

³ Jenkiiii shafted (DC) by Mt. Chiliad on the descent in round 10. Would have finished in 3rd with a time of 22:11. Courtesy 15 points awarded.
