Okay I'm considering posting a n00b guide/advise post for Gfred. I'll probably be stating the obvious to most people who've done it before. Perhaps we can use it to trade tips and ultimately get someone close to the WR. What do you guys think?

New PB for me tonight (1st time going under 22 mins)..., still not good enough to beat Bukit! Excellent, if you put up a time like that tonight you could win the round and get 25 points.

The race will kick off tonight at 9:30 pm EST, with a practice run kicking off about 45 minutes before that.
This is a 'rain' race, so remember to adjust your strategy accordingly and take fewer risks.
Good luck, and remember a Top 10 finish will get you in the points!

Minor update. Scheduled sunny races will now be run with variable time and weather / . That's next week onwards. Tonight is in the rain! Variable weather was previously turned off because of synchronisation problems, but the top players are hot-lapping consistently and decimating the field, making it a bit pointless if you're at the back of the pack or in a rubbish car. It could now rain at any time which evens up the field and makes your car choice riskier than ever. Thanks guys.

I hope to be able to compete tonight if it's cool? Is this gona be at 930pm EST? 😬 The race will take place at 9:30 pm for people who live in New York, Boston, Miami, Montreal, Indianapolis, Toronto, Ottawa and Washington DC, or in and around those time zones. This is 10:30 pm for myself, in Belém do Pará, Brasil, and for people who live in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Halfax (Nova Scotia, Canada), and down the line into Uruguay and Argentina. On the other extreme, the race will start at 6:30 pm for people living in Phoenix, San Franciso, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Seattle, Vancouver, etc...

And that's why we don't get many Brits in the races, Jedi, because of the time difference. You're four hours in front of me, but that will improve when the clocks go back in October. The race will start from 2:30 am London time.

Here are the results from last night's race: My feelings about the race? Say no more. Good race Apex for getting to grips with it. TBH, I was disappointed with the turnout - we had 19 entries on the very first race, and two weeks later, round 3, only 13 starters. That's a bit crap. I made the mistake of kicking Flea and his crew because I didn't know who they were, but I suppose as long as there are at least 10 starters every week we can continue to have a championship. If it goes below 10, I don't know... maybe abandon. I've come to realise that most people don't read this forum and aren't aware of the structured nature of the event. Any suggestions on getting more people interested? I would like to see proper Gfreds with 25-30 people - real mayhem. Thanks guys, and I'm updating the OP with the results and points right now...

oooh, and apologies to Bukit (and anyone else) who thought this was going to be an exclusive rain race. We practised in the rain before the race and got disconnected en mass AGAIN, just like last week, so I changed the weather to 'variable'. All future races will run as 'variable' to minimise the disconnect issues on Mt. Chiliad. Cheers!

Thanks for hosting this Jenkiii, i think its a nice little change up to your standard event. For more people, maybe promote on other forums!? Or...as soon as the NODO/Broughy die hards find out about it, it may get tons of participants.
