A little update. Been slow to work on things do to waiting on parts and just plain laziness. Spent a lot of time on the new tank. Original mounts didn't fit, so I had to cut the old mounts off of the old tank and weld in those in place. Not all bad though, this allowed me to set the tank at a level I like more than what was stock. Spent a lot of time sanding the tank to a finish that I like. A nice dull shine. What is in the pic below is what will get a nice clear coat over it. Also need to do a tank liner inside so it wont ever rust. As you can see I have new tires. Front tire is mounted but still need to mount the rear. Also waiting on new brake shoes since the original ones were shot. While the wheels were off I replaced all the bearings, so it should roll nice and smooth. The seat is coming together slowly but made some progress. this is my first custom seat, so it should be interesting. I may have to pick the brain of my upholstery guy, Would have him do it but i think he would charge an arm and a leg, plus it wouldn't get done for months. Also on the list of things to get done is wiring. Im planning on ditching the original wiring harness and rewiring everything myself. So many unnecessary wires, especially since I removed so many things, it just makes more sense to do it all new. A few other small things to get done are, building and mounting a battery box, re mount the headlight, mount the tail light, and probably get new handlebars. Hopefully ill have this thing rolling in the next couple of weeks. I'll keep you all posted as things progress.

One step forward, 3 steps back. Got half the wiring figured out, including the starting circuit, so that was nice. Then after looking at the bike, I realized I wanted to change the location of the ignition and the battery. So...all the wiring I did got pulled back out, i ordered a bunch of new parts, and now I wait again. In addition to that, i found out I ordered the wrong sized rear tire. So...ordered the right size...so waiting on that. The basic look of the bike is coming together nicely though. Here's how it sits now The lines are starting to look pretty nice, but the front light is too far up. Rear tire is the wrong size, so it will sit about another inch higher in the rear. I battled with myself all weekend with that open gap beneath the seat I love having it open, but in order for that to stay that way, I have to do a shit ton more fab, in addition to the rewiring. But i am a perfectionist, and I don't have a deadline, so take the time to get it the way I want now. Spending WAY more than I innitially thought. Oh well, work hard, play hard. EDIT: Looking at the picture now, I'm going to toy with removing the rear fender. Or maybe try to get it to look more like the tank.

^^ You have no head?
As you may already know, photobucket had an overhaul earlier this year and you now need to pay as a subscriber, so every photobucket image has been removed from the site. This affects Lifted, Apex, and probably others, and I can't see any of these images. Imgur is still free, and pretty good I think.

Actually that other hand is my lead tech. The only guy I really trust to get things done in the company! I was the man behind the camera.
I installed the Tapatalk app, so im going to try to post more of the shit I see from day to day. One of the things I love the most about my job is the carnage I get to see on a regular basis. Im absolutely obsessed with the natural world, particularly when it comes to the amount of power and destruction it can produce. So in my line of business, i get to see the affects fire and water can have on a structure. Many times im the first to arrive after a fire has burnt up a place, or water has made it's way into various parts of a home, and even more, what happens when people are too cheap to have that cleaned up professionally, and soon after a new form of life finds its way into that home in the form of mold. Mold is thriving life that has the ability to cause destruction to anything when not dealt with. Over time, if I keep up with adding photos, im sure you guys will see what im talking about.
