Hello fello crew mates! As many of you know, I work my ass off in my day to day life when not on GTA. I work for a restoration company called AdvantaClean out of Minneapolis, MN. I like to refer to us as a specialized cleaning company, tackling things like flooded homes, mold, sewage (Yuck, I KNOW!!), and many MANY other things. I am a Lead Technician/Production Supervisor for the company (now you know why I tend to demand cooperation out of people , and I get to see some pretty wild stuff on a variety of jobs. Ever day is something new, which is what I love about my job. Anyway, I thought it would be cool to share some of the things I see from time to time. The damage water can do to a home is remarkable. That small overflow of your toilet..? That can turn into some pretty nasty shit if not clean up properly. Hope you guys enjoy seeing the things I get to deal with day to day, and maybe even get a better understanding as to why its so important to have things repaired and/or built PROPERLY in your homes. 90% of the things I see are due to cheap homeowners trying to do shit themselves.

This home had a very water leak from a pipe that was buried in a wall with multiple layers of drywall and wood paneling. The leak was not discovered until mold finally started showing through all the layers in the bathroom. Standing water was found in a 'hidden' storage room that they never go into. This was what we found when we pulled the bathroom vanity away from the wall. Some pretty intense growth! That was cute. But theres more to come! After removing that layer of drywall and a layer of wood paneling, we got to another layer of drywall. This is where it gets fun! Alas, Mold doesn't stand a chance against us!!

Brought home this little beast the other night.
For the price of free there is a lot of potential there! However...with the that kind of 'price tag', its sure to have its issues. The inside of the gas tank is rusted to shit...although, that doesn't really matter, because its also rusted on the outside, so much so that there is a hole in it. So ill be getting a different gas tank, something with a different style to it for sure. I thought the throttle cable was locked up...turns out it was the carberator. Pulled it out and nothing would move. Took me an hour to get the thing disassembled. I have cleaned a lot of carbs in my time, this was BY FAR the worst i've ever seen. It's quite clean now and all parts moving! Both front and rear tires are cracked to shit, so ill be getting some new rubber. Already have something in mind for that as well. Starter/Solenoid/battery issues. Lights come on with the battery I pulled from my golf cart, but wouldn't turn over. However, when i bypass the solenoid, it turns over. So nice to know the piston and crank turn! Some sort of varmint made a home out of the bike. I found the air box, battery box, and storage under the seat full of all sorts of shit for little nest. Nasty shit! The guy who had the bike previously claimed the thing runs....well...maybe it did before it was put away 10 years ago! Anyway...i have a lot of things planned for this bad boy! Ill keep you all posted on my progress! Im about to polish this turd!!

to do a lot of wet sanding to get the look I want, then do a clear over that. I would love to strip things down and get the frame and a few other parts a satin black. I dont want to spend a shit load of money on it, but definitely want a certain look. Here is a bit of what is inspiring me. Its the same model bike as mine, so I could definitely get something similar. Tank is going to stay a raw metal, going

Cleaned out the carburetor over the last two days, fixed the starter issue, and with a little makeshift fuel tank and some starting fluid, i got the motor to run for about a minute! Knowing the motor is good....The real fun begins! I'll keep the forum updated as much as i can remember to!

Got a chance to work on the bike a bit more today. Heres what has been done.. Took out a couple cross members below the original seat to make room for the custom seat I will be building. Needs to sit flat against the top bars. (dont mind the messy garage, I have too many projects going on at one time, which includes organizing the shop space, lol)
I had to modify the rear fender so it was also below the two top bars so the seat will sit flat. I also we through and got rid of any accessories and brackets that I wont be using any longer. I am also going to rewire almost the whole bike, so I gutted it of all its electronics including the speedometer, headlight, and accessory lights. Oh, I also replaced the handlebars, the originals were bent to shit. The handlebars that are on there now were ones I had laying around from a 4 wheeler project I did some time ago. The bars will likely get swapped out again down the road. Here is what it looks like as it sits now. New tank should be here on Monday, New tires here next Friday. Hopefully in the next two weeks it's rolling down the road. But we will see, lots of work to be done, Including my first time building a custom seat.
